Dear friends,

We started JasperStats in 1997 to fill a void in the stat service market. We had given up on finding someone to provide decent, reliable service for less than 40 bucks per team. So we did it ourselves.

Now you can find plenty of web sites that offer some pretty elaborate and extensive service options, and very attractive prices. Some are backed by large and reputable media organizations. We'd like to think we had something to do with bringing about the new landscape in the stat service market. In 1999, there's a lot more out there for the roto/fantasy ball player than there was just two years ago. Maybe we forced the hand of the services that dropped their rates significantly in that time!

Which brings us to some sad news. We regret to announce that we've decided not to operate JasperStats commercially in 1999. Please accept our sincere apologies for the short notice. We know you're trying to get your leagues together for the coming season.

We're keeping an eye on the other stat services. We think there are some fine ones out there, if you're willing to look for them. Not quite as good as us, but still pretty good. And if they get lazy, we'll be back.
